Ceramic Sandpaper Belts
Commercial floor sanders use heavy-duty sanding belts to remove bulk material. If you’re tackling a floor sanding project, you can hire one of these machines from a hardware store such as Bunnings.
If you’re hiring a floor sander, you’ll need to purchase sanding belts separately. Quicksand Supplies offers premium, ceramic sanding belts specially designed and made to fit these hire machines.
The ceramic abrasive on our sanding belts is resistant to heat, so they last longer and provide a more consistent finish. That also means you’ll be changing belts less often and make your DIY project even more affordable.
Sandpaper vs Sanding Screens
Quicksand Supplies offers traditional sandpaper products as well as sanding screens. While both products are abrasives that are suitable for floor sanding, they have a few key differences:
- Sandpaper is an abrasive product where abrasive particles are bonded to a fabric or paper backing. This type of sandpaper is affordable and effective, and it’s compatible with commercial floor sanding machines.
- Sanding screens are an abrasive product where the abrasive particles are bonded to the mesh screen. Sanding screens are less aggressive than conventional sandpaper, but the mesh screen improves dust extraction. This can substantially extend the lifespan of the sanding screen. Sanding screens are compatible with specialised rotary buffers and mostly used for fine sanding and buffing.
You typically need both products to complete a floor sanding project. The choice depends on the sanding machines you’ve hired, the timber products you’re using and the desired level of finish.
